We’ve got a lot to talk about but want you to start where you are at so here are a few categories to get you going. You can choose from……

The sport of pickleball uses a flat racket and wiffle ball on a court with a net. You can play singles, doubles or mixed. Traditionally played until the first team hits 11 points (or 2 points more than the other), it has become widely popular with all ages. It can be played indoors or on outdoor courts.

Absolutely! Pickleball is a fantastic way to stay active, improve your health, and enjoy meaningful social connections. Its combination of physical, mental, and emotional benefits makes it one of the best all-around activities for people of all ages and fitness levels.

The basic necessary equipment you will need to play pickleball would be appropriate wiffle balls for the sport, a racket, court shoes, and a court with the proper net in the middle. Beyond that there are other things you can purchase such as glasses etc….

Look locally for a gym that offers pickleball courts, they likely are the best place to start finding lessons and/or clinics for beginners and more advanced players. Parks and recreation in your city will likely have coaches as well as online sites such as findpickleballlessons.com

Traditionally pickleball scoring is to 11, or 2 more than the other team beyond that score. The very first serve starts at 00 start and is only done by one player in doubles or mixed. From there each person on each side gets a turn until the point is lost…..

There are lots of important pickleball rules that need to be followed such as keeping the ball between the lines of course and more specifics to this paddle sport. Staying out of the kitchen when hitting the ball out of the air is one unique and important one to remember as you lose the point if it is done….

Pickler: A pickleball enthusiast or someone who is obsessed with the game.
Pickled: When a team loses a game without scoring a single point (similar to a “shutout”).
Kitchen: The non-volley zone near the net where players cannot volley the ball.
Dink: A soft, controlled shot that lands in the kitchen, used to slow down the pace of the game.
Flapjack: A shot that must bounce before it can be hit, typically used during the double-bounce rule at the start of a rally.
Rally: A series of shots back and forth between players during a single point………
